Do I need a book for the German course?
You will need a course book for most courses. The course fee includes teaching materials appropriate to the course and specific exam preparation.
Can I also take part in a German course if the course has already started?
It is also possible to join a course that has already started, provided your language level is appropriate.
I have taken a certificate/exam for a certain level – do I have to take the placement test?
Nevertheless, we ask you to take a placement test. This test is both free and helpful in identifying the best course for you. This way we can ensure that you get the best possible learning experience.
Can you send me a quote for WAFF/AMS?
Yes, but estimates are always individual. We therefore invite you to contact us so that we can discuss in detail what kind of support you would like to take advantage of. Our team members will be happy to advise you.
Do you take the vouchers from Magistrat ? Can you send me an estimate for WAFF/AMS?
Costs for courses of the ÖIF (Austrian Integration Fund) and the ÖSD (= Austrian Language Diploma) can be reduced or covered by various funding agencies. These include:

Can you tell me if I am obliged to take an exam after the course?
Courses and examinations can be booked independently of each other. The fees must be paid separately.
Attending a course does not oblige you to take the examination. Any examination costs must be paid separately when registering for the examination.
During the course and exam period, children of all ages can be looked after free of charge in the children’s group.
I paid yesterday, can you tell me if you have received the money?
Please note that it may take a few days before we receive the money in our account.
Can I drop by during your opening hours to pay the fees for the German course?
Of course! Our office hours are as follows: Monday to Thursday from 07:45 to 16:00 and Friday from 07:45 to 14:00. Please note that we only accept cash payments.
Do I have to pay everything at once?
The course fee must be paid in full before the end of the course. Payment in installments is possible. However, we are happy to make a reservation for you first, whereby you must pay the minimum amount of 150.
How can I pay with you?
Various payment options are available to you as part of our online ordering process, including Visa, Mastercard, Klarna, Sofortüberweisung and eps-Überweisung.
Alternatively, you can also pay by bank transfer. If you come to our customer office in person, you can pay in cash.
Please note that card payments are not accepted in our customer office.
What cancellation options do I have?
In general, you have the flexibility to make changes to your course up to 14 days before the start of the course. If your visa is refused, you can even cancel or make changes free of charge up to 7 days before the course starts.
How long does a German course last?
The duration of your language course depends on your choice. As a rule, our courses last between 4 and 8 weeks.
FAQs – ÖIF questions
What is the ÖIF?
The ÖIF (Austrian Integration Fund) offers examinations at different levels, which serve as proof for different levels of residence permits in Austria. The exams include: Integration test A1, A2, B1 and the ÖIF test B2.
Why do you need an ÖIF exam?
The A1 integration test is required for the first residence permit in Austria and tests German language skills at A1 level as well as knowledge of values and orientation. The A2 exam, which tests knowledge at A2 level, must be passed in order to extend the residence permit. Permanent residence requires the B1 test, which tests language skills at B1 level and knowledge of values. The ÖIF B2 test is required to obtain citizenship after six years and tests German language skills at B2 level. Municipal authorities and employers in Austria recognize the ÖIF exams as official proof of German language skills.
How are the ÖIF exams structured?
All ÖIF exams have written and oral parts. The A1 exam lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes in writing and 15 minutes orally. The A2 exam lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes in writing and 10 minutes orally. The B1 exam lasts approximately 2 hours in writing and 15 minutes orally. The B2 exam takes about 2.5 hours in writing and 15 to 25 minutes orally.
How long does an ÖIF exam take?
The exams usually start at 09:00 and last between 5 and 7 hours, depending on the level and number of participants.
What do I need to register for an ÖIF exam?
A registration form and proof of identity are required for registration, e.g. passport, residence permit card or identity card.
How do I register for an ÖIF exam with Team LEDL?
You can register at the office or online.
What does an ÖIF exam at Team LEDL cost?
The A1, A2 and B1 exams cost €140, the B2 exam costs €160.
At which levels are ÖIF exams offered?
ÖIF exams are offered at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2.
When do the ÖIF exams take place?
Examinations are held on a monthly basis. Current dates can be found on the homepage.
Are there preparation courses for the ÖIF exam and when do they take place?
Preparation courses are available and offer exercise types and model tests for exam preparation. The success rate is 91% for participants with a preparation course compared to 47% without a course.
What do I need to bring to the ÖIF exam?
Proof of identity and a non-erasable blue or black ballpoint pen.
Can I use a dictionary for the ÖIF exam?
No dictionary is permitted for the A1, A2 and B1 examinations. A monolingual dictionary may be used in the oral part of the B2 exam.
How do you prepare yourself for the ÖIF exam?
Model tests for the integration exams A1, A2, B1 and B2 are available on the homepage.
Can I repeat the ÖIF exam?
The examination can be repeated as often as required. If you fail, you can take another exam immediately.
What happens if you fail part of the ÖIF exam?
The entire examination must be repeated, as partial repetition is not possible.
When and how do you receive the exam result?
The results are sent by e-mail from the ÖIF 2 to 4 weeks after the test.
What to do when the result is needed quickly?
The magistrate can submit a written request to the ÖIF in order to receive the result in advance.
How long is an ÖIF examination certificate valid for?
The certificates are valid until revoked as long as the Integration Act is in force.
Can you deregister from an ÖIF exam?
Cancellation of the exam is only possible 7 days before the exam.
What happens if you arrive late for the exam?
In the event of late arrival, the OIF will decide whether participation is still possible. The examination fee must be paid in any case.
What is value and orientation knowledge?
This part of the exam includes questions about living, housing and working in Austria and lasts 40 minutes.
Who carries out the ÖlF tests?
The examinations are carried out by two ÖlF examiners.
What is an ÖlF voucher?
An ÖlF voucher covers 50% of the course price (maximum €750) for a German A2 integration course if certain conditions are met.
Who corrects the ÖlF exams?
Corrections are made exclusively by the ÖlF, which also sends the results by e-mail.
What should I do if the examination result has not yet arrived?
If the result is not available after 3 to 4 weeks, the OIF should be contacted directly.
