1. Riding pedagogy

It uses (group) experiences with the horse to develop personality and social skills. It supports the positive development of children’s motor skills and perception in the areas of gross and fine motor skills, coordination, tactile perception and deep sensitivity. In contrast to riding therapy, the focus is not on targeted support or treatment of weaknesses and deficits.

Exercises on different topics are carried out in a playful way on and with the horse. The little ones practice colors, letters, numbers, calculations, memory skills… together with the horse.

During riding lessons, children also learn how to handle horses properly in a playful way and explore their natural behavior. They learn a lot about caring for and keeping the animals. Moving with and on the animals appeals to many different senses and thus promotes the children’s development. Being with the horse and other children strengthens the children’s social skills and ability to work in a team.

Riding education does not claim to be therapeutic. It is not riding instruction either, but it is the best foundation for it, because the children learn the correct seat right from the start. Games are played on the ground and on the horse and new skills are learned. Self-esteem and much more is promoted with the horse as a partner. The trips into the surrounding area and into the forest strengthen the bond with nature and help the children to ground themselves.

The process is accompanied by experienced riding instructors and specialists in animal-assisted therapy.

Cost per unit (50 min) €60.-

Block of 10 (10 plus 1 free) €600.-

2. Hiking with a horse – This is how hiking is fun

How much of the journey do we and our children still make on foot?

When was the last time you admired the flowers along the roadside? Perhaps you collected herbs in nature and cooked them together with your loved ones?

The increasing, ever more perfect mobility is eliminating paths and simply putting one destination after another.

During our leisurely horse ride, we experience slowing down and focus not on what is coming, but on what is. The calm and serenity of the animals is „infectious“; it helps us humans to ground ourselves, center ourselves and find more balance.

When preparing the horses, i.e. brushing and cleaning their hooves, the participants make their first contact with Ascan, Trojan, Johnny and Chicco. They receive feedback on the animals‘ body language and thus learn about the characteristics and preferences of our horses. On our hike along the edge of the Lobau, we lead the horses and experience nature up close with them. Sometimes our dogs accompany us too.

Back at the farm, our animal companions are well looked after and said goodbye to.

The hikes are accompanied by a riding instructor and „herb witch“, so that you can learn a lot about the animals and the plant world at the same time.

These hikes take place with a maximum of 6 participants from a maximum of 2 households and last about 1.5-2 hours (including joint preparation of the animals)

Costs: € 35 per person

€ 150 for 6 people

3. Animal Assisted Therapy Children

Experiential educational elements provide space for individual experiences and learning processes. Cooperative behavior is strengthened and respectful interaction with people and animals is demonstrated. The children’s natural need for movement and motor challenges is taken into account.

The children are supported in their individual development processes and in expanding their social skills with the help of various methods from the field of animal-assisted education. Encountering and interacting with different animal species activates inner resources, contributes to improving the quality of life and joy of life and has a preventative effect on mental health.

Experiential educational elements promote group skills and cooperative behavior. In addition to the positive effects on a physical level, exercise has a psychohygienic and expressive function. When interacting with the animal, analog communication elements (facial expressions, gestures, touch, etc.) are increasingly required.

The combination with digital communication aspects creates authenticity. The small group offers a safe environment in which social skills are expanded. The therapist is aware of the development-specific tasks of the age groups and at the same time always takes the individual pace of the child into account.

The process is accompanied by experienced life and social counselors and specialists in animal-assisted therapy.

Cost per unit (50 min) € 80.-

4. Animal Assisted Therapy Adults

Animals help to reduce stress, stabilize the psyche, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and much more. Animal-assisted therapy, i.e. the targeted use of animal contact for healing purposes, is a relatively new discipline among healing methods. People with cognitive, social-emotional and motor disabilities in particular benefit from working with horses, but it is also beneficial for healthy people.

Animals can work wonders. At the very least, they can alleviate, cure or even prevent many mental illnesses and some physical diseases.

Animal-assisted therapy – This refers to all measures that have a positive effect on the experience and behavior of patients through the conscious use of horses. Therapeutic elements such as emotional closeness, warmth and unconditional recognition by the animal in question play a decisive role. Supported by techniques from the areas of communication (exchange of information), interaction (mutual influence on one another), basic stimulation (nursing and therapeutic measures to support physically and mentally impaired people) and learning psychology.

The process is accompanied by experienced life and social counselors and specialists in animal-assisted therapy.
